"A family residing in north London is looking for an extraordinary and experienced tutor to guide their most junior child on his first steps to growing into an British gentleman."
When reading this advertisement, you might readily miss the wording "initial stages" as just a turn of phrase.
But, it could be the crucial part of this unusual job advert, as it attempts to hire a teacher for a one-year-old.
Numerous of responses have now been sent in since the anonymous family posted their request for the highly paid tutor, who needs to be "someone very special".
In recent few weeks, the listing has received attention across the media, with several questioning why?
Forward-Thinking Method
A tutoring expert, CEO and founder of Tutors International, which is supporting the family in their hunt, explained that in spite of initial scepticism, he found the idea "forward-looking", and "progressive".
When he spoke with the family, he said they recognized the atypical aspect of their requirement, and how immature their son is.
But, they stated that they "didn't want to wait any longer" to engage a tutor, as they had postponed until their older child was five, and by that age "cultural bias had by then taken hold".
What exactly does the family mean by "cultural leaning"?
It's "comprehensive", Adam replied. "The manner you eat, the manner you speak".
He explained the firstborn had absorbed "extremely delicate, body language" from the family, and had assumed their cultural habits. The family told him they hoped to prevent this pattern to recur with their infant.
The intention: To bring in a UK tutor, who needs to speak with RP, to guide the baby from day one.
Natural Absorption
"A great deal of the development at the outset here is kind of osmotic," stated Adam.
It's via this natural absorption that the family are expecting the child will pick up the English characteristics they wish to impart.
Adam said the tutor had to be somebody who attended "the right kinds of schools – similar types of schools as the family plan to send their son to".
"The instructor just has to be the suitable individual, they'll be performing things they may not realize they're doing, effortlessly," he added.
Money No Object
The family informed Adam the successful candidate should ideally also have familiarity of or enthusiasm in horse riding, winter sports, creative fields and instrumental training so as to influence the child in a wide range of interests.
Furthermore though, he explained the family hoped the tutor to sign up the child on a selection of classes so the child would be "horseback riding and learning an tool by the time they are about three years old".
In the family's perspective, helping their son develop into a "UK sophisticate" will bring about success and provide access.
"Taking into account the advantages and disadvantages of that, because it's definitely a status symbol," he adds.
But, notwithstanding all this guidance in "UK identity", could the child pick up what is termed cultural leaning from the multicultural family he resides with in any case?
"Yes", answered Adam. "The family realize this may not work, but they've merely embraced the attitude of, 'we should try and we'll proceed as quickly as we can', because the price of it is not relevant," he explained.
Idealistic and Unrealistic
There are some in the private teaching field who have similar concerns.
An education leader, CEO and founder of an educational organization, who provides individual instructors, wrote that "the journey of embracing two identities, or in fact, forming one's identity, is something that must be grown into, not designed."
The expert noted that he had emigrated from the Far East to the UK at the period of childhood, and had been brought up experiencing and embodying two backgrounds. He progressed to study at the University of Cambridge.
"The concept that an individual can act as a representation of UK identity, a person who can somehow impart the characteristics of a UK sophisticate to a one-year-old child, strikes me as naive and unfeasible," he commented.
"In my experience, employing a distinctly British tutor from babyhood will will not instantly achieve the goal they hope for.
"I wasn't provided with such a tutor, and however I have been fortunate enough to enjoy numerous of the situations they aspire for their son."
He stated: "The truth is, cultural identity cannot be forced from the outside; it must be chosen, and it must be internally driven."
Buying Britishness
Of course, Britishness is something Adam believes can be instructed – and marketed.
"In my view the fact that the global community holds us in this respect is something that we should be cherishing|valuing|appreciating
